Sweet Things to See & Do in Byron
V enture into town to explore Byron’s sweetest
attractions. Byron’s Historic Downtown and
homes in the area are listed on the National
Register of Historic Places. Pick up a walking/driving
tour brochure at the Byron Welcome Center.
Let food be your medicine when you enjoy lunch at
The Drugstore Deli, a locally owned restaurant housed
in what was once the corner drugstore. Walk into the
historic building of the early 1900s and find a tasty
reason to say “ah.”
The Old Byron Jail, built around 1875, was renovated in
1998. Tours may be arranged by calling (478) 918-3666.
Outside the Old Jail, Jailhouse Park is a pleasant spot
for a picnic. Also in Byron, North Peach Park is the place
for community festivals, movies in the park, and many
other events. The park has picnic shelters, playgrounds,
trails, seasonal splash
pad, horse shoe pits,
sports courts and
athletics fields. There
are also pecans and
Jailhouse Park
chestnuts for picking.
