Camden County Extension is the winner of the 2014 Rivers Alive Coastal Cleanup Award. On
April 30, 2015, Agricultural and Natural Resources Agent Jessica Warren traveled to Atlanta to
accept the award from EPD Director Jud Turner during the annual awards ceremony. Camden
County Extension hosted two Rivers Alive cleanups in 2014, the first in partnership with
Crooked River State Park and the second in partnership with the Satilla Riverkeeper. Seventy-
six community members attended these events, collecting over 1050lbs of trash from the
shorelines of Camden County. The Extension office will host two cleanups in 2015 as well. The
first will be on September 26th at Crooked River State Park, and the second will be on October
10th in downtown Woodbine.
