LEISURE ACCA Serves Athens ‘
Older Citizens
Athens Community Council on
Aging (ACCA) has been a staple in the
Northeast Georgia area since 1967.
Founded by local citizens, the 501(c)3
non-profit agency aims to maintain and
enrich the lives of older persons.
ACCA’s programs offer opportunities
for engagement, travel, employment,
volunteerism, wellness classes, and
social opportunities. In addition, ACCA
is a resource for information, referrals,
counseling, and general assistance that
may be needed to enable older persons
to live independently at home. The
programs and services provided by the
agency are broad based; ACCA is able
to provide services for those active and
engaged in their community as well as
those who are more at-risk or in poverty.
The mission of the Athens Community
Council on Aging is to promote a lifetime
of wellness through engagement,
advocacy, education and support. As
Athens is consistently named a top-
retirement destination, ACCA is here to
make sure we live well and age well.
