Burke County Health Department
Residents of Burke County who do not currently have a primary care provider
may be seen for wellness screens, immunizations, chronic health issues, and
acute sick visits by medical providers at the Burke County Health Department.
Walk-ins are accepted or appointments can be made by calling 828-764-9150.
Medicaid, Burke County Insurance, and cash payments are accepted using a

Public pools, private wells and septic systems, restaurants, and lodging are
permitted and inspected by the Environmental Health Section of the Burke
County Health Department. Environmental Health functions as the local
government arm of the North Carolina Department of Health and Human
Services in the enforcement of state laws and rules concerning the public
