Carrollton, the county seat, is governed by a mayor and four council
members. The city manager and an exceptional staff handle day-to-day
operations. The Carrollton Police Department employs around 90
people, more than two-thirds of them certified police officers.
The Fire Department holds a “1” ISO rating, one of fewer than 150
departments in the nation to receive that rating.
