Clemson Area African American Museum
Clemson Area African American Museum is housed in the former Calhoun
Colored School and focuses on the stories, places and traditions relating to
African American life in Upstate South Carolina. Rotating exhibits include semi-
permanent, fine art and pop-up experiences. “Sincerely, Daniel” is the newest
exhibition honoring 50 years (1964-2014) of athletic excellence at D.W. Daniel High
School, highlighting those contributions that left an indelible mark on local and
international sports history – open through Feb. 27, 2026. Ask about visiting parts of
the upcoming Black Heritage Trail, officially announcing in late 2026.
