Botanical Garden
With more than three miles of easy
nature trails, the 295-acre South
Carolina Botanical Garden on the
campus of Clemson University is a
nature-lover must-stop destination.
The Garden also includes the Fran
Hanson Discovery Center that houses
Sassafras Mountain At 3,553 feet rotating exhibits and a gift shop, the
above sea level, Sassafras Mountain is the highest National Register of Historic Places-
point in South Carolina. It sits on the border of South listed Hanover House, the 1826 Hunt
Carolina and North Carolina and is also on the Eastern Cabin, and gems, minerals and
Continental Divide. The 77-mile Foothills Trail passes unusual fossils of the Bob Campbell
over the top of Sassafras on its journey between Table Geology Museum.

the parking area, featuring views of Georgia, North
Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee on clear days.
Take a short walk up to the top of the mountain and you
will find a large overlook with 360-degree views of the
surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains.
