Clemson Area African American Museum
                               The Clemson Area African American Museum
                               (CAAAM) is housed in the Calhoun Bridge Center,
                               which was formerly an all-black school. Known as
                               Calhoun Elementary School, it was the last school
                               built for African American students in this part
                               of Pickens County. Along with the CAAAM,
                               the Calhoun Bridge Center is home to The Arts
                               Center of Clemson and the Clemson Child
                               Development Center.

                               By showcasing historical achievements of local
                               African Americans, the museum engages the com-
                               munity in intellectual discussions about the past.
                               Exhibits highlight different aspects of the African
                               American life, from culture to religion. Events
                               including expos, classes and cultural activities are
                               also offered at the museum.                                                                Woodbvrn Historic House

                               214 Butler St.                                     Built in 1830, the Woodburn House is a 19th century plantation home furnished with

                                                                                  along the property’s historic farm road to the plantation barn, and a reproduced carriage
                                                                                  house contains Thomas Green Clemson’s traveling coach and a Conestoga wagon. The
                                                                                  house is open to the public for general tours on Sundays from 2 to 5 p.m. and for a
                                                 Ashtabula                        special tour Saturdays at 10 a.m. Private tours are available by appointment.
                                                 Ashtabula is a charming two-story
                                                 clapboard house (c.1825) situated on   130 History Ln.
