great to see people lined up waiting to get in, people coming
in from miles and miles away, coming to Douglas.”

Brian Norris

In the late ‘70s, the last movie played at the old
Martin Theatre. The building was donated to the City of
Douglas by the Martin Organization in 1981. The venue
evolved into a performing arts theatre and conference
destination in 1999. This community icon is now listed on the
National Register of Historic Places in Downtown Douglas
Historic District.
“We would not be here without local support,” confirmed
Norris. He and Hurst are finalizing contracts for nationally
known and Grammy award-winning musicians who will perform
in Douglas this year.
