The rigorous, yet supportive curriculum
is known as a thinking curriculum.
Unlike many school curricula, the
thinking curriculum does not rely on rote
memorization, but instead integrates
content and process to reflect real-
world situations and promote problem
solving skills.
This approach to learning is critical
to produce a well-rounded and skilled
workforce, and is one of the contributing
factors to the success of Dunwoody’s
thriving business environment.
DeKalb County’s advanced approach
to learning is incredibly successful, and
student achievement is at all-time high.
In 2014-2015, Dunwoody High School
students scored an average of 1550 on the
SAT, 100 points higher than the average
state score and 60 points higher than the
national average.
