Who’s New



                                                                                 Let’s Go Pickleball
                                                                                   Pickleball, y’all! Let’s Go Pickleball, LLC,
                                                                                 is coming to Fayette County. The new
                                                                                 53,000 square-foot building will be located
                                                                                 at 101 Moba Drive, Suite A, in Peachtree
                                                                                 City. Groundbreaking was October 2024,
                                                                                 and the grand opening of the state-of-the-
                                                                                 art indoor facility is anticipated late July or
                                                                                 early August.
                                                                                   “We are thrilled to be in Fayette, with so
                                                                                 many pickleball players in the area,” said
                                                                                 Chase Mason, general manager of the
                                                                                 Peachtree City location. “We’re excited to
                                                                                 give people a home club where they can
                                                                                 play all the time.”
                                                                                   Mason, who plays at a pro level, shared
                                                                                 that although pickleball has been around
                                                                                 since the mid 1960s, it took decades for
                                                                                 the sport to become mainstream. He said
                                                                                 the advent of tournaments in 2016 helped
                                                                                 grow the public’s interest and, curiously,
                                                                                 the sport was propelled to even greater
                                                                                 popularity during the 2020 pandemic
                                                                                 when bored folks were seeking an activity.
                                                                                   “It’s a combination of tennis, table
                                                                                 tennis, and badminton,” he explained. “It’s
                                                                                 played with a paddle, not a racket.”
                                                                                   Already the location is the official home
                                                                                 of the PTC-Fayette Pickleball Club. With
                                                                                 more than 700 members, it’s the largest
                                                                                 group of its kind in Georgia. Mason said
                                                                                 he looks forward to hosting corporate
                                                                                 gatherings as the new facility will have
                                                                                 event space, a viewing mezzanine, seating
                                                                                 areas, and more.
                                                                                   Different membership levels will be
                                                                                 available, including a family plan. Let’s Go
                                                                                 Pickleball, LLC will also teach 101 and 102
                                                                                 pickleball classes.
                                                                                   “Anybody at any age can play,” Mason
                                                                                 said. “People try it and feel like ‘I can get
                                                                                 better.’ They get hooked on it.”
                                                                                   Some of the upgraded amenities at Let’s
                                                                                 Go Pickleball include indirect lighting (no
                                                                                 getting “blinded” during play), cushioned
                                                                                 courts (easier on a player’s joints), and
                                                                                 sound-dampening technology (to reduce
                                                                                 play noise).
                                                                                   “Let’s Go Pickleball offers a social,
                                                                                 fun, premier pickleball experience,”
                                                                                 Mason said.
