                                                                              Woolsey
                                                                                Even the tiny Fayette County town of
                                                                              Woolsey (population 207) has a unique
                                                                              development underway. The historic
                                                                              Woolsey Church is being fully restored
                                                                              and repurposed.
                                                                                “The town looks forward to its
                                                                              completion and ultimate use as a
                                                                              community and cultural center serving
                                                                              Fayette County and the surrounding
                                                                              area,” said Gary Laggis, Woolsey Mayor.
                                                                                Registered non-profit, Friends of
                                                                              Historic Woolsey, Inc., is managing
                                                                              the project. In March 2024, the Town
                                                                              of Woolsey was awarded a $300,000
                                                                              matching grant by the Fayette County
                                                                              Development Authority (FCDA) for
                                                                              this project.
