The Beck Recreation Center at 2030
Church St. in Georgetown offers cardio and
weight rooms with men and women’s lockers,
a full court gymnasium with a climbing wall
and aerobics room. The Waccamaw Regional
Recreation Center and Choppee Recreation
Center at the Northwest Regional Park offer
both cardio and weight rooms, rental spaces
for events and programs, and host programs
and activities for all ages. Additionally, the
new Andrews Recreation Center, which will
have similar offerings to the Waccamaw and
Choppee Recreation Centers, is scheduled to
open in the fall of 2019.
The Murrells Inlet Community Center
includes a large multipurpose room with a
permanent stage and theatre seating, three
meeting spaces and a catering kitchen. The
Howard Center offers an 863-seat auditorium
with stage, new lighting and sound systems,
and dressing rooms, not to mention a large
multipurpose space, a catering kitchen,
a full court gymnasium and a variety of
smaller rooms.
The Department also provides access to
27 boat landings, a 2,800-foot fishing and
observation pier, and 68 beach access areas
from Garden City to Litchfield. The Carroll
Ashmore Campbell Marine Complex features
