Welcome to the second issue of SeaLevel–
Welcome
Lachicotte’s premier Art, Culture,
nspired by the rich history and love of the Real Estate, Lifestyle magazine.
area, we’ve aspired to capture a small essence
Iof this community, originally inhabited by
the Waccamaw and Winyah Native Americans.
“Chiquola” or “Chicora,” as they called the
area, means “the Land.” The tribes, inheriting
their names from the waterways, Waccamaw
(Waccamaw River) and Winyah (Winyah Bay),
lived off the land and the sea, and fondly referred
to the river as “coming and going.” This translates
and remains true today, as families come and go
from vacations here and are drawn to return to the
rhythm of our life, the gently swaying hammock
and salt creek mind-set.
As modern-day stewards of the land and sea,
we found SeaLevel to be an inspirational name for
our magazine. Designed to capture and embellish
the many amenities our coastal land provides
us, SeaLevel is our outlet to share all things
Art, Culture, Real Estate and Lifestyle indicative
of our favorite place in the world. Our team of
professional Realtors (Residential & Commercial),
Vacation Planners and Property Managers are
entrenched in the well-being of the community
and passionate about the historical king’s grant
legacy of the land and properties we represent,
and the waters that surround us. Enjoy!
