foot community hospital, Phoebe
Sumter Medical Center in Americus
provides expert care for people
in Sumter and surrounding
counties with its 76 beds and
all-private rooms.
A tornado raged through Sumter
County in 2007 and destroyed
Sumter Regional Hospital. In the
aftermath, community leaders
reached out to Phoebe Putney
Health System to partner in building
a new facility. Phoebe Sumter
opened its doors in December 2011.
