                                                                                  The Thomson-McDuffie County
                                                                                Library houses 44,000 print items and
                                                                                3,000 non-print items (such as DVDs,
                                                                                videos, microfilm, and audio books). The
                                                                                library also offers 19 Internet workstations.
                                                                                More than 3,000 children, parents, and
                                                                                caregivers participated in the annual
                                                                                eight-week summer reading program
                                                                                that includes story times, workshops, and
                                                                                special literacy-based programs. The
                                                                                library has plenty of programs that are
                                                                                geared toward adults as well.
                                                                                  Other services available at the library
                                                                                include photocopying, sending and
                                                                                receiving faxes, voter registration,
                                                                                notary, children’s programs, genealogy
                                                                                materials, meeting rooms, and WiFi.
                                                                                Bookmobile service is available for
                                                                                home-bound citizens, neighborhood
                                                                                stops, day care centers, schools and
                                                                                other institutions.
                                                                                  This library is a member of Georgia
                                                                                Library PINES (Public Information
                                                                                Network for Electronic Services), the
                                                                                public library automation and lending
                                                                                network that provides equal access to
                                                                                materials beyond what is available on
                                                                                local shelves. Any Georgia resident is
                                                                                eligible to receive a free PINES
                                                                                library card.
