in White County began with the Georgia Gold Rush
in the early 1800s and continues to shine today
across the diverse economic landscape in which

White County is home to companies such as poultry hatchery
Cobb-Vantress, Inc., that have global impacts, as well as smaller,
internationally renowned visitor attractions such as BabyLand
General® Hospital and Alpine Helen, which open a magical world
of possibilities to families. White County is the perfect place for all
types of businesses to thrive.
Industries
The White County economy is ever evolving and becomes more
diverse each year, but the two main economic drivers are agriculture
and tourism. The relatively mild climate and mountainous terrain
are perfect for a variety of agribusinesses to thrive. There are more
than 300 farms in White County, and farming accounted in 2019 for
an annual economic impact of more than $60.6 million, more than
$38.4 million of which is from the farming and selling of poultry and
eggs, according to University of Georgia data.
