credits to developers who build income-
based rental units, meaning a portion of
the total rental units must be reserved
for various income levels. Through this
program, the City has been able to offer
more than 800 affordable housing units.
The City maintains and updates a list of
these units.
The City of Warner Robins’ Community
Development Department also operates
programs to assist low-income homeowners
in the city to maintain their homes. The
Community Development Department
focuses on the revitalization of blighted
or decaying neighborhoods with the goal
of stabilizing, preserving, and improving
the housing within the city. Two programs
offered to achieve this goal are the owner-
occupied Housing Rehab Program, funded
through U.S. Department of Housing and
Urban Development, and Rebuilding
Together Warner Robins.
The Housing Rehab Program is a housing
low-interest loan program that is strictly
for repairs and the upgrading of homes to
meet current code standards. Rebuilding
Together Warner Robins is a program
where community volunteers assist
their elderly neighbors who suffer from
physical disabilities or financial limitations
to maintain their homes. These devoted
volunteers are essential in making sure
that our region’s elderly and disabled live
in warmth and safety.
