As the area’s major workforce training
        organization, Wilkes Community College
        plays a significant role in preparing residents
        to meet current and future workforce needs.
        In 2021, more than 6,200 individuals were
        enrolled in workforce and community
        education programs. WCC also provides
        economic development services to business
        and industry.

        Wilkes County Public Library
        The Wilkes County Public Library is part of
        the Appalachian Regional Library system,
        a network of libraries across northwestern
        North Carolina. Wilkes County Library has
        a range of programs and services tailored
        to children, teens, and adults. A modern
        library, Wilkes County Library has digital
        collections, online resources, and virtual
        programs, as well as traditional printed
        books and resources.
