THE CHAMBER IN A CTION
Governmental Affairs
The Governmental Affairs committee works to establish and maintain the
best business environment through local, state, and federal advocacy
programs. This committee is responsible for making recommendations
about policy as well as issues. These main focuses are most clearly seen
through the State Leadership Dinner, State of the Community, Federal Trip
to Washington DC, and the Grits and Issues legislative event held locally.
Workforce & Education
The Workforce and Education committee works on two of the main
objectives in the Chamber’s strategic plan: the creation of a pipeline
of future leaders and workers. Some of the main programs in the
Workforce and Education committee are Leadership Glynn, Youth
Leadership Glynn, and the current Workforce Development Study.
Special Projects
The Special Projects committee manages all events, communications, and
special projects the Chamber takes on every year. Some examples are the
Chamber’s Golf Tournament, Chamber Broadfield Clay Shoot, She Means
Business Luncheon, First Responders Appreciation Luncheon, and the
Chamber Annual Gala and Auction.
Business Development
The Business Development committee works to ensure
employees at your business have the training they need to
be successful and make better employees. The committee is
responsible for membership recruitment and retention, small
business, industrial affairs, and the business education series.
