Anne Monroe Den
would accompany
A her father --- a
general surgeon on his
morning trips to the small
harness race track in their
native Pinehurst, N.C.,
where he would exercise
the horses. It was also
where Anne developed
an affinity for all things
equine.
These days, Anne Monroe’s
passion for horses is
even more intense. Don’t
believe it? Just check out
her shop, Fox Den Ltd.,
which she and business
partner Kenny Cutler ---
whom she met through
her embroidery business
--- opened four years ago in
Camden’s Dusty Bend.
Monroe’s business had
a modest start as she
followed the show jumping
circuit in a vending trailer
for more than a decade with
her embroidery machine.
She turned ordinary objects
into unique one-of-a-kind
treasures for horses and
barns, including logos.
Monroe then displayed and
sold her hard to come by
products to customers who
made an appointment with
Monroe before she and
Cutler moved into their
current digs. Fox Den Ltd.
follows that same model,
providing its customers
with top of the line equine-
Anne Monroe, owner of Fox Den with Laura Kraut and Nick Skelton who are world
renowned equestrians.
