        Monroe carefully selects objects
which will tickle the fancy of those
who walk through her doors. She
has developed a knack for knowing
       what customers desire.

“Most everything I do is equestrian-
       inspired,” Monroe said. “We sew
       linens and serviceware in addition
to the embroidery. Kenny does the
glass carvings and we offer farm
       logos and equestrian designs on
       everything from horse show prizes
       to drinkware to serveware. Then,
       we do more decorative equestrian
       designs which we embellish on
       linens, pillows and other objects.”

       Turning sometimes ordinary objects
into memorable pieces of art is just
       one aspect of Monroe’s business
model. The part which she has fully
       embraced has been scouring the
world in search of unusual and hard
to find items to adorn every room of
       a home, building or, barn.

       “It involves searching out other
       artists who make equestrian-
       related things,” said Monroe, a
former horse show rider who earned
       a bachelor’s degree in nursing
       from the University of North
Carolina. “For example, we have a
       third-generation harness-maker
who makes items such as leather
       buckets and leather hardware for
the bathroom such as towel holders.
