of Clemson is evident year-round, especially during seven
weekends during the fall when tens of thousands of orange-
clad Clemson football fans descend upon the City to support
their Tigers.
The inhabitants of the University and the City benefit from
their cooperative relationship in many ways. In addition to
its array of athletic programs, Clemson University’s Brooks
Center for the Performing Arts offers cultural programs in
music, art exhibits, student theater productions, and film
screenings to enhance the community living experience. The
South Carolina Botanical Garden on campus attracts locals
and visitors to its acres of blooms and green space. Another
wonderful asset is the City’s fare-free transit system, CATbus,
that offers public transportation to students, faculty, staff,
residents, and visitors traveling in and around Clemson.
