life on-stage so be sure to get tickets to a
production at the Springer Opera House
– The State Theatre of Georgia and one of
America’s most vibrant professional theatre
companies. Or take in a Broadway production
at RiverCenter for the Performing Arts,
one of the centerpieces in the city’s Arts and
Entertainment District.
Other not-to-be-missed experiences
include the Coca-Cola Space Science
Center (especially a show in the Omnisphere
planetarium); Historic Westville, a place that
will take you back to life in the 1800s; and the
National Civil War Naval Museum at Port
Columbus or the National Infantry Museum,
voted USA Today’s Best Free Museum and one
of CNN Travel’s 12 best military museums in
the world.

artist and Columbus native Bo Bartlett at
Columbus State University’s Bo Bartlett
Center. While you’re in the vicinity, you can Pasaquan

quirky side? You’ll have some really great
stories to tell when you get back home after
a visit to Pasaquan, a 7-acre compound near
Buena Vista created by an eccentric folk
artist named Eddie Owens Martin. It’s been
hailed as one of the most remarkable folk-
