Dawson County Parks & Recreation
manages four parks: Rock Creek
Sports Complex, River Park, Veterans
Memorial Park, and War Hill Park. Rock
Creek Sports Complex offers soccer and
baseball/softball/t-ball fields, tennis
courts, a gymnasium, indoor meeting
rooms, paved walking trail, outdoor
basketball courts, and outdoor covered
pavilions. 445 Martin Road, Dawsonville
River Park is the ideal place to launch
your canoe or kayak into the Etowah
River for an 8.7-mile paddle, with only
a couple of easy Class I and II rapids,
allowing you ample time to enjoy the
sights and sounds of the river as it flows
through the Dawson Forest WMA.

Veterans Memorial Park is home to
the football field, swimming pool, and
new walking trail, as well as baseball/
softball/t-ball fields, tennis courts, a
gymnasium, outdoor basketball court,
and outdoor covered pavilions. 186
