Most Dawson County seniors maintain
their own homes. In support of the
county’s mature adults, the Dawson
County Senior Center provides programs
that address the nutritional, emotional,
mental, physical, and social needs of the
senior population. Among the services
offered (at no charge) are a daily hot
meal; home meal deliveries; a shopping
trip to Walmart planned every other
week; daily games and activities including
the Silver Sneakers Program; a nurse
available twice weekly for foot and nail
care, healthcare assessments, vital sign
monitoring, and weight checks; a walking
program; exercise room equipped with
treadmills, stationary bicycle and stride
walker; Tai Chi classes; and much more.
