Dunwoody Diorama
Dunwoody Preservation Trust
unveiled a one-of-a-kind historical piece
of public art. The Dunwoody Diorama
is a 19-foot-long sculpture of our city’s
history carved in relief from the trunk
of a century-old red oak tree. During
the rehabilitation of the Donaldson-
Bannister Farm, it was discovered this
oak had died and so long slabs of the
base and trunk were cut and preserved.
The wooden sculpture depicting 10,000
years of regional history is mounted on
the south side of the newer barn at the
Donaldson-Bannister Farm; sculpted by
Chamblee artist Tom Williams.
Dunwoody Preservation Trust does
