          For 20 minutes they can participate
       in activities related to the vocations
       represented. It is self-guided, so students
       can opt to explore each job or spend all
       their time at one that interests them.
       They move to the next “world” for more
       hands-on experience, again, choosing
       where to spend their time. Students receive
       exposure to each of the career fields
       present at Fayette Works.
          At the inaugural event, Brent
       Scarbrough & Company, a successful local
       civil site developer, presented an impressive
       piece of heavy equipment used in their
       work. The interactive portion for students
       came via a smaller, remote-controlled
       front loader, moving things around on the
       artificial grass, to get a feel for what the real
       thing might be like.

                                                                              Technical College (SCTC)
                                                                                 The Center of Innovation in Peachtree
                                                                              City is home to the Fayette campus of
                                                                              Southern Crescent Technical College
                                                                              (SCTC). Opened in February 2023, the
                                                                              college works closely with Fayette County
                                                                              Schools to prepare Fayette’s next generation
                                                                              workforce with the education and skills
                                                                              needed for success.
                                                                                 SCTC President Dr. Irvin T. Clark worked
                                                                              closely with Fayette County and the Fayette
                                                                              Chamber to ensure that the SCTC Fayette
                                                                              County campus would help build a pipeline of
                                                                              future employees.
                                                                                 Fayette SCTC programs of study include
                                                                              paralegal studies, film technology, business
                                                                              management, nursing and other medical
                                                                              sciences, and hands-on learning like welding
                                                                              and drone technology, among others.
                                                                                 Through their Dual Enrollment program,
                                                                              Fayette County high school students can
                                                                              earn college credit as early as the 10th
