TRANSPORTATION
Jackson County Transit offers three
10-passenger vans equipped with wheelchair
accessibility. This system provides rural
public transportation services designed to
allow convenient, dependable, accessible
transportation to doctor’s offices, grocery
stores, pharmacies, and any other personal
needs destinations for Jackson County
residents. Time slots for transportation to work
are also available.
This is a Shared-Ride Service, meaning that
several individuals may be on-board the
vehicle and in route to their destination.
Transportation is available throughout Jackson
County and to Athens.
FARES:
$4.00 - One way in county
$8.00 - Round trip in county
$9.00 - One way out of county (Athens)
$18.00 - Round trip out of county (Athens)

DRIVER’S LICENSE
A Georgia driver’s license should be secured
within 30 days of establishing residency in
the state. A written exam and vision test are
required for persons having a valid out of
state license. For questions, please call the
