Jackson County Historic Courthouse
Built in 1879 by architect W.W. Thomas, this
Neoclassical treasure was the first post-Civil War
courthouse built in Georgia. The building’s iconic
Classical Revival clock tower was added in 1906,
and the interior was completely renovated in 1978.
Today, the monument serves as a welcome center
and a historic archive center, and is available for
tours, meetings, and events.
