SHIELDS-ETHRIDGE FARM Leisure
Another popular county park is Sell’s Mill
Park, site of an old mill that ground corn as
recently as the 1990s. The mill was built to
supply electricity as well as grind grains for
bread. Sell’s Mill Park has a covered pavilion
with several picnic tables, a playground,
restrooms, walking trails, and The Mill building.
The pavilion and The Mill can be rented. Come
to see the shoals, water wheel and trace area,
and hike the trails.
Jackson County’s municipalities also provide
recreation facilities as a service to their
citizens. From sunrise to sunset, enjoy Arcade
City Park’s basketball courts, baseball field,
playground, restrooms, kitchen, covered
picnic pavilion, and Bar-B-Q area. The park is
also available for special events (family) by
reservation. Phase I improvements have been
completed at Arcade City Park and include
a new picnic pavilion with a kitchen and
restrooms, a new playground with a walkway
surrounding it, along with improved parking.
The park has been enlarged and long-term
plans include a multi-use walking trail, dog
park, an event lawn area, and an additional
picnic area.
The Town of Braselton currently has a
downtown park with a playground, tennis
courts, splash pad, and a pavilion. There are
special events and festivals at the park during
the year. Braselton also has a Town Green
in downtown that is home to many movie
nights, holiday festivals, and music events.

One of Braselton’s more exciting recreational
sites is the Mulberry RiverWalk along the
Mulberry River north of Interstate 85. Braselton
