University of North Georgia
The University of North Georgia, with nearly 20,000
students on five campuses and online, is one of
the state’s largest public universities. The University
offers more than 100 programs, including
certificates, associate, bachelor’s and master’s
degrees, and professional doctorate programs.

UNG is one of six senior military colleges in the
United States and is designated by the University
System of Georgia as a State Leadership Institution
and The Military College of Georgia. UNG combines
a strong liberal arts tradition with practical
leadership, research opportunities, and service-
learning experiences that empower students to
fulfill their potential.

The Gainesville campus, the closest to Jackson
County, serves 7,900 students who can pursue
undergraduate degrees in nearly 50 areas of
study, as well as three graduate degrees and five
certificate programs. The Gainesville campus
combines the resources of a large academic
institution with a strong sense of community
typical of a smaller campus environment. Students
can forge connections with classmates and receive
individualized attention from professors in an
environment that allows them to thrive.
