Rutledge. Enjoy a two-mile hike along the
                                       Hampton Plantation nature trail as it takes
                                       you through towering pine forests and long-
                                       abandoned rice fields. Or enjoy learning about
                                       those who once called Hampton home along
                                       the quarter-mile history trail. The park is open
                                       daily from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
                                         Locals and visitors take advantage of the
                                       area’s vast array of watersports from surfing and
                                       kayaking to paddle boarding and kitesurfing.
                                       Georgetown and Horry County Parks and
                                       Recreation Departments maintain many public
                                       boat landings and there is certain to be one
                                       near you. There is also a wide array of charter
                                       fishing companies that will happily provide you
                                       with professional guides.
                                         Off the water, local and state parks
                                       offer miles of hiking and biking trails, and
                                       boardwalks with waterfront views. Georgetown
                                       County is home to Bike the Neck, a paved
                                       bike trail system that will eventually run more
                                       than 25 miles from the Horry County line in
                                       Murrells Inlet to Georgetown. About 18 miles
                                       of pathway have been completed. The Horry
                                       County Bike & Run Park in Carolina Forest
                                       hosts seven miles of mountain biking and
                                       running trails.






                                               Golf

                                               There is no better place to putt, practice
                                               and play golf than in the “Seaside Golf
                                               Capital of the World.” The area offers
                                               challenging courses created by such
                                               luminaries as Pete Dye, Tom Fazio and
