have active School Improvement Councils, PTA/PTSAs,
and robust business partner programs with more
than 500 partnerships. In addition, the school district
partners with local colleges to offer Early College
programs and dual credit opportunities for students.
Students registering for the first time need to
supply a certified birth certificate (must be age 5 by
September 1 to enroll in kindergarten), a South Carolina
Immunization Form, and proof of residency in the form
of a utility bill in the parent/guardian’s name with a
current service address within the District boundaries.

Dorchester School District Four benefit from STEM
(Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)
education at all levels and, at the high school, a work
ethic program sponsored by the Dorchester County
Economic Development Organization that awards a
certificate of completion that graduates can take with
them while seeking employment. District Four works
diligently to ensure that all its students are equipped
with the skills necessary to be competitive in the
workforce and postsecondary education.
Dorchester School District Four serves

three elementary, two middle schools, one high school,
