                                           MONUMENT
                                    Honor our veterans when you visit the Eternal
                                    Flame monument on the south side of Columbus’
                                    Government Center at 100 10th St. (the 9th
                                    St. side of the building). The monument also
                                    recognizes the city’s five Medal of Honor recipients.

             Historic
               ANDERSONVILLE
        About one hour’s drive southeast of Columbus is
        Andersonville, site of Camp Sumter, a prisoner of war camp
        that is now Andersonville National Historic Site. A memorial
        to the nearly 13,000 Union POWs who died at the camp
        during the Civil War, the site also includes the Andersonville
        National Cemetery, an active national cemetery open for
         burial to eligible veterans, and the National Prisoner of War
        Museum, which honors all American POWs in the United
        States’ various military conflicts.    (outside only)
