In their own words
MEREDA DAVIS JOHNSON ROBERT PATRICK
Commissioner District 5 Commissioner District 1
I have seen the transformation of DeKalb County in the Presiding Officer of DeKalb County
last seven years that I have been here. My hope is that future Board of Commissioners
leadership will continue to build upon the foundation that has DeKalb County has made strides in providing its
brought us this far. For if we work together, there is nothing constituents with a resilient government. However,
we can’t accomplish in DeKalb. upgrading our stormwater, sewer capacity, and mass transit
infrastructures, as well as developing a comprehensive trail
network that connects communities to well-designed parks
and vibrant neighborhoods, would mark the beginning
of a new era. These multi-year investments would make
REV. KIM JACKSON DeKalb County a more desired location for residential
Senator District 41 and economic growth.
During the next 100 years, I would like to see DeKalb
County flourish economically and set an example for being
a beacon of equality, equity, justice, sustainable growth and
development in all communities. We have made some good
progress with community engagement and economic and
restorative initiatives. I would like to continue to build on
this momentum and increase affordable housing and living
wages. Over the next 100 years, we can eliminate home
and food insecurities and continue to improve our public
education resources.
I hope to see even more diversity in DeKalb’s leadership,
including the involvement of our youth and young adults.
The Spirit of Dekalb is already on the right track, and I hope
we continue down this path.
