Dunwoody actively seeks places for
inspirational and impactful public art. It
improves our city’s visual appearance
where gathering places, landmarks,
and infrastructure are the blank
canvases for new and imaginative works
of art. Murals create a sense of pride
and nostalgic feelings, inspiring us all
to stop a moment and reflect on the
meanings of the natural and cultural
pieces we encounter.
Some murals are permanent. Some
are temporary. Did you know? Any
Dunwoody property owner, leaseholder
of a property in Dunwoody, nonprofit
organization in Dunwoody, or artist living
or employed in Dunwoody may apply
for a Public Art installation in the City of
Dunwoody overseen by the Dunwoody
Arts Commission.
Check out Dunwoody’s diverse
murals – on electrical boxes, on bricks,
parking garages – even on picnic tables.
The Green Light Art Project inspires
public art on traffic signal boxes around
the City of Dunwoody in partnership with
Dunwoody High School art students and
professional area artists.
