launched a new Advanced Manufacturing
and Welding pathway in fall 2020, in close
collaboration with area manufacturers.

fairs at UGA, Athens Technical College,
Piedmont University, or the University
of North Georgia.

Athens’ businesses can take
advantage of global connectivity
with the area’s easy accessibility to
all modes of transportation.
Athens benefits from Georgia’s roadway
system, one of the largest systems in the
Southeast. Several major state highways
run through Athens, while the major
byways of Interstates 85 and 20 are easily
accessed. Athens’ businesses can reach
80 percent of the nation’s industrial and
largest consumer markets in fewer than
two truck delivery days.
