Bikes travel free. Buses run seven days
a week, but do not operate on major
holidays. For more information including
a system map, individual route maps and

The University of Georgia Campus
Transit provides transportation for
students, staff, and faculty throughout the
University campus. Bus and para-transit
services are provided on a no-fare basis (a
fee is collected along with student tuition
and other student fees). Through an
arrangement between the University and
the Athens-Clarke County government,
UGA students, staff, and faculty may also
ride Athens Transit buses fare-free with a
valid UGA I.D.
Continuing with a theme of convenience,
the Multimodal Transportation Center
links Athens Transit System vehicles,
University of Georgia buses, bicycles, taxis,
and pedestrian facilities into a single hub.
The facility also serves as a community
bridge that connects downtown Athens
with the North Oconee River Greenway.
As a major hub for transportation in the
city, the Center features 9,500 square
feet of interior space and a bus transfer
facility that includes covered bus bays
and climate-controlled waiting areas,
restrooms, a passenger drop-off area,
a ticket/information booth, and bicycle
storage. A pedestrian bridge connects the
bus transfer facility to downtown Athens
