Airport. Two county-owned airports
serve the area, as well. In southeastern
Oconee County, Oconee County
Regional Airport is less than one mile
from Lake Hartwell, only three miles
southeast of Lake Keowee, and less
than five minutes by car to Clemson
University. Pickens County Airport is a
county-owned public-use airport just 12
miles from Clemson. The proximity of
these airports to our area makes them
ideal for many private and corporate jets.
In addition, power and water capacity
are plentiful, and the area’s electric
rates are among the lowest in the
nation. Within South Carolina, electricity
sources are diverse, with nuclear,
hydroelectric, and coal sources feeding
the grid.
