to start your search. The Colonial Coast
T Birding Trail weaves birding into the state’s
history, encouraging stops at rice plantations and
forts as well as wetlands, woodlands and tidal
rivers to spot some of the more than 300 bird TOP 10 GEORGIA BIRDS
species documented along Georgia’s Coast.
On the west side of the state, the Southern
Rivers Birding Trail winds its way from the rolling
hills of the Georgia Piedmont southward along
major rivers until eventually terminating in the
Okefenokee Swamp. The 30 sites along the trail
have been carefully selected to provide a variety
of wildlife viewing experiences.
