The Blue Ridge Music Hall of Fame
showcases and preserves the rich
musical heritage of the greater Blue
Ridge Mountains from northern Georgia
to northern Virginia. The Hall of Fame
educates, defines, and interprets the
history of mus ic in the area and musicians
from the region in all genres with exhibits
and an annual celebration of inductees.
The Hall of Fame is housed in the historic
Wilkes County Courthouse.

Hutchinson Homestead in Stone
Mountain State Park is complete with a log
cabin, barn, blacksmith shop, corncrib, meat
house, and original furnishings. The farm was
built in the mid-19th century and restored in
1998 to represent the lives of early settlers
of the Stone Mountain area. Informational
displays explain the different aspects of the
homestead buildings and how they were
operated. The homestead is open weekends,
May-October. Visitors may walk the grounds
when the site is not open.

Whippoorwill Academy & Village
offers group tours of 15 people or more by
appointment to folks looking to get a glimpse
at the old ways of life in the Blue Ridge
Mountains. The village also hosts events
throughout the year including the Daniel
Boone Festival, Tom Dooley and Appalachian
Culture Festival, Real Scots Wear Plaid Day,
James Larkin Pearson Poetry Competition,
Author’s Day, and Veterans Day and Christmas
celebrations. A partner with the Blue Ridge
Music Trails of North Carolina. Open 3rd
Saturdays April to October.
