Stone Mountain State Park

The Northwest North Carolina Visitor Center is managed by the Wilkes
Chamber. The building is LEED Gold Level Certified. Travelers coming through
northwest North Carolina can stop at the 10-county Visitor Center/Rest Area
that spotlights the communities of Alexander, Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Caldwell,
Iredell, Surry, Watauga, Wilkes, and Yadkin counties. Meet the staff who can
share the best resources for area lodging, events, attractions, nature areas, and
more, while enjoying regional arts and crafts exhibited. Stretch the legs, walk the
dog and enjoy the scenery on the nature trail that takes you on an 0.8-mile loop
around the facility.
