Athens’ Classic Center Workforce development is not just for students. On-the-job
training and career advancement are equally important
for The Classic Center. The Bread for Life program gives
unemployed adults a chance to start over or start for the
first time. An eight-week experience, participants receive
classroom instruction and onsite job training. And to give
these jobseekers an extra boost, they are paid during their
time of training.
McCullough said that [The Classic Center’s] goal is a
“continuum of education” regardless of what point in life
a person finds themself.
Multiple scholarships underwrite The
Classic Center’s workforce development.
The Classic Center Cultural Foundation
awards more than $60,000 annually in
scholarships and community grants for
hospitality education, performing, and
visual arts.
