Much like neighboring communities, Mount
Holly’s name and that of the Mount Holly
Cotton Mill were inspired by a successful
mill town in the Northeast, in this case,
Mount Holly, New Jersey.
Mount Holly’s downtown brick-lined
sidewalks lead residents and visitors to
shopping, dining and just relaxing in the
town’s vibe. Summer concerts, Food Truck
Fridays and other celebrations beckon the
community downtown.
Outdoorsy types enjoy Tuckaseege
Park’s trail system that extends to the river,
a dog park, skateboard park, playground
area and picnic shelters, as well as ball
fields and open common space.
Life in this textile mill town over the last
two centuries can be explored through
photographs and memorabilia on display
in the Mount Holly Historical Society
Museum, which recently relocated to the
Mount Holly Municipal Complex at 414 E.
