           The Jackson County Airport in Jefferson
        is the “air door” to our community. With
        industry growth over the last few years, the
        airport is preparing for the future. It has a
        5,009-foot runway, new markings, improved
        lighting, ramp space available for rent from
        the County, County/private hangar space
        options, and some of the lowest fuel prices in
        North Georgia.
           Jackson County Airport plays a vital role
        in supporting the region with approximately
        50 jobs and $5.48 million in annual economic
        output for the local and regional economies.
        The airport supports area industries and
        businesses that rely on it to conduct
        business operations by transporting people,
        equipment, and goods in and out of the
        region, as well as supports activities such
        as flight training, aerial inspections, military
        training, Civil Air Patrol search and rescue
        operations, aerial surveys and photography,
        and aerial advertising.
           Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International
        Airport (ATL), the world’s busiest airport, is
        just over an hour’s drive from Jackson County,
        which makes business travel convenient.
        Local businesses that operate internationally
        save a tremendous amount of time and
        money by taking advantage of flights to more
        than 70 international destinations offered
        at ATL.
